Our Christingle Service at Holy Cross was a wonderful celebration with our students today!
Christingle was established by the The Moravian Church as a symbol of Christ’s light and love for all people and it was introduced into the Church of England in 1968.
Year 5 prepared the Christingles for our service in church. The orange represents the world and the red ribbon around the orange is the blood and love of Christ. The dried fruit and sweets on 4 cocktail sticks are the four seasons, the fruits of the earth and God’s good gifts. The lighted candle is for Jesus, the Light of the World.
